Advances in automation and communication in manufacturing have allowed for a vision to achieve resilient and rapidly responsive economies of scope. To realise these, a strategic and multi-objective pursuit in reduction of complexity and cost of ‘plug and produce’ manufacturing is needed.
To achieve resilient supply chains that respond to external disturbances in the supply chain, material shortages, pandemics, closed borders, and of course to changing customer and societal demands, the project aims to:

Increase flexibility while improving operations
MODUL4R will benefit its users with its predicting capabilities, interoperable data and digital twins, as well as the flexibility and distributed control with multi-level decision support, and overall process optimisation and adaptability.
