“Plug & Produce Distributed Control” key-approach: draft architecture now available

Workshops orchestrated by CORE IC led to the draft architecture for Plug & Produce Distributed Control in Modular Manufacturing, a cutting-edge approach that facilitates the seamless integration of modular components and machinery into manufacturing systems, enabling quick and efficient setup and reconfiguration.

The draft architecture depicts the interconnecting layers, from the shop floor to the public middleware. At the heart of MODUL4R is the multi-level communication middleware as it enables the seamless flow of data and information between various components and environments in the manufacturing system, ensuring real-time tuning, reconfiguration, and efficient orchestration of computing resources across the edge, fog, and cloud layers.

At the forefront of innovation, the project is developing a near-real-time OT/IT service-communication interface that facilitates seamless communication between operational and informational technology layers with ultimate outcome accelerated processes and enhanced efficiency.

Join us on this exciting journey as we transform the manufacturing landscape.
